Libros
The River Valley Library

Honduras is one of the poorest nations in our world today. Many live only on the corn and beans that they grow, and those who are fortunate enough to have jobs make less than $3 a day.

For children, a state education provides instruction for only a few hours in the morning for grades One through Six. But even this is nominal, as teacher strikes are common and attendance is low.

But one of the greatest problems is the lack of books. Parents, teachers, and children have no access to reading material. This makes literacy functionally purposeless. After all, why learn your ABCs if there is nothing out there to read?

Therefore, the River Valley Library works for literacy, education, and wisdom by making books and educators available for the communities of the River Valley near La Ceiba, Honduras.
